• The goal of the Communication module is to prepare you, as an educator, to become proficient with Standard II of the Maryland Teacher Technology Standards referencing Communication issues. This standard requires teachers to demonstrate an understanding of the effective and appropriate use of electronic communication, and to use technology to communicate information in a variety of formats. It also requires that teachers demonstrate an understanding of the legal, social, and ethical issues related to technology use.   • In this introductory course, participants will demonstrate an understanding of accessing, evaluating, processing and applying information effectively based on the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers.  Participants will identify, locate, retrieve, and differentiate among a variety of electronic sources using technology, evaluate information critically and apply information critically and apply information in order to solve problems and answer questions.

  • Technology Infusion involves creating a lesson plan, then incorporating the effective use of technology to enhance that plan during instruction. “Technology Infused” can be defined as, apart from the pedagogy, the total means used to instill or make known the course content to a particular group. This means the compilation of various forms of technology and the level of the use of those various forms. Can the effectiveness of the technology be measured once it has been used? Can the technology be "seen" as some part of the assessment outcome? Let's investigate these questions, and more, to see if there are answers to these knotty issues.
